Are these Bacteria Pathenogenic?

Inorganic substrates such as sulphides, elemental sulphur and ferrous ions are oxidized by the bacteria to provide chemical energy. Organic substances are toxic to the bioleach bacteria, they are therefore non-pathogenic and incapable of causing disease. The bacteria employed in bioleaching, therefore, pose no health risk to humans or other animals. These bacteria are harvested from natural environments such as hot springs and are one of the oldest living organisms.
